Ksenyia Contemporary ballet class is a synthesis of classical ballet and contemporary dance techniques. The class is wisely arranged, focusing on certain groups of muscles necessary for contemporary dancers. Already having a high dance level and strong physical capabilities, dancers do not need to have a pure academic ballet class, but a compilation of classical and modern techniques and exercises.

Contemporary ballet class is more amplified, making emphasis on wide dance movements, coordination, and exploration of new forms. Kseniya’s Contemporary Class includes everything related to conscious movement: floor work, coordination practices, extending dance capacities, dealing with the sense of space inside and outside. Technical class is based on a proper understanding of space, floor, lower and upper levels, therefore the dancer can travel around, having a sense of space, as well as creating his own around. The class enables dancers to develop strength and endurance. Dancers also involve in work their musical, physical and sensory aspects, learn to experiment with changing levels and speed of movement, A lot of attention is paid to sharpening the skills of movement transitions. Part of the class is dedicated to Ksenyia Mikheeva Project repertoire – work with dance vocabulary, choreography, and musicality. Kseniya’s Improvisation class is set to maximize the inclusion of imagination and link it with body development. Our brain has a huge influence on various parts of our bodies and it decides what kind of technique the body produces: sharp and abrupt or soft and isolated, Improvisation absorbs all brain influences on our bodies and our aim is to use it for body development, First of all, what we are trying to do through this class is to strongly develop dancers ability to create inner and outer space. What is more, we are working on mastering dancers’ physicality, knowing the fact that the brain can severely affect certain body types when concentrating on them.

DURING HER MASTERCLASSES AT DAP FESTIVAL KSENYIA WILL ASSIGN 2 SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR A WEEK PARTICIPATION IN THE WINTER INTENSIVE AT PETER PROTANCY DANCE CENTER ST. PETERSBURG ( RUSSIA) 2021/2022
