Angelica Stella started her dance training at the age of 3 in her hometown, Ravenna, Italy.

She graduated with honors in the Cecchetti Method and started dancing in 2002 for the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Italy.

In 2003, she was awarded “best dancer” at the international competition “Danzasì” in Rome, winning a 3-week dance intensive in New York City.

While in New York, she was awarded a full scholarship to the Professional Training Program at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and after 6 months, was accepted into the Martha Graham Dance Ensemble as a featured soloist.

Within the Graham repertory, she has danced major roles in Acts of Light and Appalachian Spring, touring in the States and in Europe. In 2006, she toured with the Martha Graham Dance Company and had the honor of dancing Heretic for the 80th-anniversary celebration of the Company’s existence presented by Mikhail Baryshnikov.  After graduating at the higher level from the Graham school, she moved back to Italy where she started working as a soloist and assistant to Adria Ferrali, director of New Dance Drama.

Angelica helped to create the New Dance Drama Educational Program in collaboration with the Martha Graham Dance Company and Susan Kikuchi.
With New Dance Drama, she has been touring both in Italy and the US.

In 2009, she was invited to teach at Alabama State University (as the assistant to Susan Kikuchi) and the Baldwin Arts and Academy Middle School in Montgomery, Alabama.

In 2010, she was awarded ‘Best Artist’ in the city of Ravenna, her hometown.

Angelica is also a fully certified Pilates instructor, personal trainer, and Master Trainer for the Pilates Network School. 

She has been recognized by the Pilates Method Alliance and master teacher, Jolita Ann Trahan.

Having been invited to present master classes and workshops at major conventions and festivals throughout Italy.
